… But – you won’t find Volvo on that list. But you will find quality and safety in a Volvo.

General Information:

It is assembled in Ghent, Belgium; Parts – US/Canadian 1%, Belgium 30%, Sweden 20%; Engine – Sweden; Transmission – Japan; Classification is Small SUV. Cars from Volvo: S60, S80, S90, V60, V90, V90 Cross Country, XC60, XC70 & XC 90.

Opinion / Observation:

While driving in the fast lane on a highway of two or more lanes in each direction, and folks are passing you on the right you might consider moving out of the fast lane into one more suited for your chosen rate of travel. Another way to put it is “if you are not passing cars on your right that might be the correct lane to be in… or if people are flipping you off it’s a good indicator that you might be day dreaming or putting on your makeup or other activities that distract you from driving responsibly.

Handling & Performance:

Always a delightful driving experience. It is one of the few cars that just get it done in luxury without all the pomp and ceremony of some ‘bloviating’ brands. I have my list of over-inflated opinions of the products being sold, and I’m guessing you have yours.

Styling:

It just gets better looking every time I test drive one, usually every couple of years.

Fit and Finish:

Very well assembled. Historically Volvo has been known for its quality.

Cost:

Competitive in class.

Conveniences and comfort:

With optional On Call services you can create a wifi hotspot in the car to connect smartphone, laptop etc., to the internet. However, without On Call services you can still use your smartphone with Bluethooth / wifi to connect to all Sensus Connect functions.
You can disconnect from home and reconnect on the road. Very cool.

Consumer Recommendations:

Consider going on line and input the link above for the list of the 10 most expensive cars to own and drive. For me, the initial cost is only the beginning and you truly must consider the cost to keep it running. In youth I heard the joke about going to buy a new car (in the top 10 list of the most expensive to buy) and the salesman brought out a very old ratty car to test drive. When asked why he simply said “because this is the car you’ll be driving most of the time”. Seriously, check out the competition an steer clear of trouble down the line.

Warranty is marginally best on the Volvo and the Lincoln and fuel economy is very close across the board..
